The development of a luxury apartment building in London's Pimlico district has featured the use of the Tremco illbruck's Rapide surfacing system.

The material is being laid during one of the coldest periods of the winter, when it would not have been possible to apply many rival products.

Brabazon House has been developed by Taylor Wimpey North Thames with McLaren Construction as main contractors..

Two years under construction, it was presented to McLaren Construction to complete the erection of the reinforced concrete structure and two storey basement parking.

The fit out of the basement car park involved EBS being selected as the specialist applicator of the Rapide system.

The surface of the concrete required grit blasting to remove any unsound material and anything such as mortar which had been spilled, before EBS could apply the Tremco product.

The installation work was all completed within a week and cured well despite the very cold weather.

Tremco Rapide is available in a choice of colours to create a hard wearing waterproofing layer that offers good slip resistance.

A heavier, reinforced version is available for ramps and other places likely to suffer extreme wear, such as turning areas.

The Rapide system cures to a durable finish that can be trafficked in less than four hours at any temperature, making it an ideal choice for refurbishment projects and fast-track installations.
