Mactaggart and Mickel's home redevelopment plans

A Mactaggart and Mickel product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 9, 2010

Mactaggart and Mickel Homes has proposed to build affordable housing as part of a mixed use development in the Thornybank area of Dalkeith.

Formerly home to Forrest Furnishings, the site has been redundant for some time.

Developer Mactaggart and Mickel, has drafted a proposal to build 90 new homes on the site, of which one quarter will be affordable housing.

Proposals for the site also include a local food store, a series of small business units and an office development.

It is estimated that the development could generate up to 100 permanent new jobs.

Mactaggart and Mickel has expressed its delight at the numbers and positive feedback from those attending a public exhibition of its draft proposals in March.
