New easy-to-use Striebig Compact has greatly improved the cutting of sheet material including MDF panels, plywood and chip board.

Its new easy-to-use Striebig Compact has greatly improved the cutting of sheet material including MDF panels, plywood and chip board.

The Macmerry, East Lothian, small business manufactures doors, windows and other joinery items as well as running a building operation that's involved in house building and refurbishment work.

Abbotsford's owner Charlie Johnston said: "The Striebig is a fantastic piece of kit and gives us far better results than we are able to get with our table saw".

"Cutting panels can now done by one man and the quality we achieve is excellent, with a 100% square cut every time".

"It's saving us a lot of time and has made us much more efficient".

The Compact is the entry-level model within the Striebig range.

The 4164 version chosen by Abbotsford is the smallest saw in the series with a cutting range of 3100mm x 1644mm and a cutting depth of 60mm.

An automated cut cycle version, the Compact AV, is also available.

As well as a standard blade the saw came with an optional scoring blade for use with veneered MDF panels.

It was supplied and installed by Deral , of Airdrie, who represent T.M.Machinery Sales, the UK distributor of Striebig saws, in Scotland.

There are three other Striebig models available: the highly popular Standard; the semi-automatic Evolution; and the fully-automatic Control.

They all combine different frame types, sizes and motor powers, plus a wide range of accessories for added productivity, with models to suit every requirement and all sizes of businesses.

To remove dust from the saws and other production machines, T.M.supplies the German-made Al-Ko mobile extraction units, which have been developed in association with highly experienced panel processors.
