Toome Embankment Reinforced With Tensar Basetex
A design option from Tensar International, using Basetex basal reinforcements, was adopted to provide a competitively priced solution in this design and build target cost contract in Northern Ireland.
The certification is an internationally acknowledged approval standard, and enables specifiers to select the Keystone system with even more confidence in its performance.
The Keystone system combines well proven precast facing units made under license in the UK by Forticrete , and Tensar's market leading soil structure reinforcement RE geogrids.
The modular block facing units have been adapted for Tensar's unique polymer connection, which enables much higher design strengths to be utilised compared with friction connection techniques.
This allows aesthetically pleasing and economical projects to be achieved while ensuring complete security and reliability.
Different facing unit styles and colours are available to suit the project requirements and meet local environmental needs.
A typical major project taking advantage of the system is the New Tredegar Regeneration Scheme in South Wales presently under construction for Caerphilly County Borough Council by Sir Alfred McAlpine Construction .
