Tour and Andersson's user-friendly balancing system, the TA-H.U.B., offers savings of at least 20% for installation, and over 50% for commissioning, as well as significantly reducing maintenance time.

In order to significantly reduce installation and commissioning time at Calderstones Hospital, Tour and Andersson's user-friendly balancing system, the TA-H.U.B was chosen for the new build Medium Secure Unit within the grounds

Calderstones Hopsital was challenged with reducing the amount of time spent, not only installing individual hydronic balancing valves in the waterborne system, but also commissioning the system itself.

Tour and Andersson presented a solution in meeting these targets.

The TA-H.U.B.is the latest technology for specifiers, offering time (and therefore cost) savings of at least 20% for installation, and over 50% for commissioning, as well as significantly reducing maintenance time of waterborne systems due to its single location.

This prefabricated unit is supported by TA Select 3, a software package that aids the design of efficient waterborne systems by specifying the correct valves according to individual requirements.

12 units have been installed at the hospital and they are fitted with a range of hydronic balancing valves, from four to eight ports per unit.

Each valve arrangement has a STAP/STAD differential pressure control and STAV commissioning valves to each terminal.

The test points on each terminal make pre-commissioning much simpler; meanwhile the quality and aesthetics of the units are very high.

Nigel Huggins, Managing Director at Tour and Andersson said: "By using The TA-H.U.B., Calderstones Hospital has been able to dramatically reduced the time taken to install and commission the system".

"It is an accessible unit so it is much easier to locate all the valves in one go and it is extremely easy to install".

The hospital, located in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire, provides specialist treatment for people with learning difficulties.

The application of hydronic balancing valves ensures a consistent ambient temperature in each part of the building, while the easily locatable valves, encased within the TA-H.U.B.means that trouble-shooting takes place in one location - reducing the time normally taken for finding faults and individual valves.
