Triple award success for Terence O'Rourke
Planning, environmental and design consultancy Terence O'Rourke has won three awards:
Two awards from the South East region of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), and an Environmental Leadership Award from vehicle manufacturer, Daimler.
Terence O'Rourke co-ordinated consultation, environmental impact assessment and overall project design for Mercedes-Benz World, Surrey.
The South East region of the RTPI awarded the scheme a Commendation For Good Practice In The Use Of The Planning Process.
Mercedes-Benz World was also recognised by Daimler for 'Extraordinary Efforts for the Environment' - selected from 135 nominations from across Daimler and its external partners.
At Rolls Royce's manufacturing plant and headquarters in West Sussex, the practice provided planning services, co-ordinated the environmental impact assessment and political lobbying and negotiation.
This work won the South East RTPI award for Development in a Sensitive Area.
Terence O'Rourke's work at Mercedes-Benz World has also been shortlisted for a national RTPI award, alongside the practice's contribution to the Gloucester Heritage Regeneration Framework and the Marine Spatial Strategy.
The results of the national awards will be announced at a ceremony in London in February 2008.
