Blind Bolt In Large Steel Frameworks
Leading structural buildings manufacturer finds that blind bolts from Torque Control, leave a clean finish when joining sections of steel framework or plates.
Oswestry Industrial Buildings Ltd., a leading structural buildings manufacturer in the Midlands and North West, have found the blind bolt from Torque Control the answer to the problem of leaving a clean finish when joining sections of steel framework or plates, especially box frame girders.
Aesthetically tidy and with a sufficiently large range of sizes to accommodate most tensile and shear strength requirements, the blind bold allows parts to be fixed together even where, as in the box frame, access is restricted to only one side.
Simple to install, the 'open end' is passed through clearance holes in the parts to be joined, and turned through 180 degrees, whereupon the anchor pin drops behind the back surface.
Tightening the nut then draws the parts together.
Engineers at Oswestry Industrial Buildings first came across Blind Bolt when trying to link two girders which were at an angle, but now use them in many applications such as the new stand at Ludlow's Football ground.
As an alternative to welding, the Blind Bolt, in EN16 steel, finished zinc and yellow passivated, in threads up to M24, satisfies all structural needs and leaves a 'clean' finish.
Hook and Eye versions are available, as is an M16 in stainless steel.
