Totty Construction wins £5.2m
School Project
Totty Construction is due to start work in mid-June on a £5.2 million project to construct a special educational needs (SEN) school in West Yorkshire for Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council.
The project, which sees Totty partnering Jarvis plc, is funded through the Government's Public Private Partnership (PPP) programme and is one of four new SEN schools to be built in the borough under a £25 million investment programme The school will be built in Newsome, Huddersfield on a site adjacent to the town's existing primary and high schools
The two-storey, steel-framed building will feature a central core of two specially designed lifts and a first floor bridge so that students can gain access to external sports and play area facilities.
The school will also feature a sensory garden and wildlife area and is due for completion in July 2005.
