Totty Building Services, special projects division of Totty Construction, has been awarded a £370k project from the National Blood Service, to construct a new blood testing facility in Manchester.

The eighteen-week project to create a new in-house resource is underway at the service's city headquarters on Plymouth Grove The new blood testing facility is being built within an existing warehouse on site and will see Totty Building Services rationalise space to create the new unit, comprising two new laboratories, several ancillary office units and a cold store area

Totty will utilise high-grade laboratory fixtures and fittings in the conversion and there will be a significant mechanical and electrical (M and E) component within the project.

Philip Ryder, operations director for Totty Building Services, commented: "Totty Building Services continues to generate a high volume of repeat business, and has to date worked on several schemes, across the north of England, for the National Blood Service.

This latest project further enhances the growing reputation of the company within the north-west and highlights the value of establishing a permanent presence within the region following Totty Building Services' decision to set up its first ever regional office within the city of Manchester.".
