Totty Building Services has been awarded a GBP655K project from the University of Bradford to construct an impressive new entrance structure at the School of Informatics The scheme is part of a six-year framework partnership between the University and Totty Building Services that covers small works projects across the institution's entire campus

The new entrance structure has been designed to form a link way between blocks A and D of the Horton Building, with Totty constructing a single-storey steel frame, quarter circular shaped structure.

Featuring exposed timber beams, an aluminium roof and solar shading panels to the exterior, the entrance structure will improve overall accessibility to the two buildings and includes a lift installation, as well as providing an additional social area for staff and students.

Externally, Totty will create a new piazza area, with cobbled margins to the side of the new building, new walkways and extensive hard and soft landscaping finishes.

The project is scheduled for completion in May 2006.

Philip Ryder, managing director of Totty Building Services, commented: "With an impressive track record in the successful delivery of key note education projects, Totty Building Services is increasingly securing work under specialist framework partnerships".

"This procurement method ensures consistent and high quality project delivery and enables early involvement in projects, which can result in the client benefiting from significant programme time and cost savings.".
