Totty Completes £33 Million Hat Trick
Totty Construction, the northern-based main contractor, has been awarded the final phase of the high profile Brewery Wharf residential development, by Barratt Leeds.
By working closely with the school, Totty Building Services has carefully phased the planned works to minimise disruption to both pupils and staff - handing over newly refurbished parts of the building before commencing the next phase.
A key element of the scheme will see Totty rationalise dormant areas within the building and turn these into useable space, with the contractor carrying out minor demolition work and erecting new partition walls and suspended ceilings to increase classroom and office capacity.
Improvements to the schools entrance will provide enhanced accessibility and the installation of wheelchair lifts ensure the building is compliant with the latest Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) regulations.
Pupil and staff welfare facilities will be completely refurbished alongside the upgrading and replacing of the building's mechanical and electrical systems to provide modern heating and ventilation services.
Philip Ryder, managing director of Totty Building Services, commented: "This scheme along with the formal framework partnership to improve schools within West Yorkshire provides Totty Building Services with an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the breadth and depth of our capabilities as a contractor".
"We excel at working in challenging live environments, where minimising disruption for our clients is a high priority, and are committed to delivering high quality and successful building solutions.".
