A full range of training facilities is also being constructed by Totty on site to ensure the fire brigade is equipped to tackle a comprehensive range of hazards, including a three-storey training tower to the rear of the new station for simulated rescues.
Once completed, the station will feature a large community room on the ground floor, providing members of the public with information on fire safety, as well as acting as a central information and liaison point.
This floor also houses a number of administrative offices, kit drying room and gym.
The first floor contains the primary accommodation space with four individual resting areas and a large canteen and kitchen, along with a lecture theatre and recreation room.
