Totty Construction, the northern-based main contractor, has been awarded the final phase of the high profile Brewery Wharf residential development, by Barratt Leeds.
The developer's five sites will be collectively known as All Saints' Quarter, and this latest phase involves ISG Totty constructing a five-storey concrete frame building, designed by architects Glenn Howells, next to the River Don.
The ground floor of the structure will be let as commercial/leisure space, which will include a large open terrace area overlooking the river.
The remaining four floors will provide accommodation for 53 high-specification one- and two-bedroom apartments with balconies and underground car parking.
Externally, the building features anodised rain screen cladding to its facade and a standing seam metal roof.
The project is due to commence mid-September and is scheduled for completion by May 2009.
John Gittins, regional managing director of ISG Totty, commented: "The Rotherham Renaissance vision is already making a dramatic impact on the town centre skyline as our first scheme emerges from behind the site hoardings".
"There is tremendous ambition within Rotherham to drive the redevelopment of the town centre forward and we are delighted to have secured this latest phase of work, enabling ISG Totty to continue to play an integral role in this important regional project".
