HOK International has appointed TPS Consult to provide security and counter-terrorism measures assistance in the design of the new headquarters for the Central Bank of Kuwait The 40-storey triangular, truncated pyramid tower will dominate Kuwait's skyline

At the top will be an all-glass viewing platform which will be illuminated to form a distinctive beacon at night.

The two walls of the tower which face the sun will be predominantly stone, which will absorb the heat of the sun, harnessing it to ward off the chill of desert nights.

The north facing elevation will be glass, offering occupants panoramic views across the Gulf while revealing the interior.

Construction of the building is expected to start later this year, with completion anticipated in 2006.
