BAA PLC has appointed TPS Consult as one of three pavement and infrastructure design consultants (civil engineers) chosen to support its capital investment programme.

The agreement, which runs for eight years from 1 August, covers work at all seven of BAA's UK airports (excluding T5) The consultants will be an integral part of the BAA Pavement and Infrastructure team and will help lead the design of both airside facilities (apron, taxiways and runways) and landside facilities (roads and surface car parks) and associated services

BAA first introduced specialist supplier framework agreements in 1996, and received much acclaim for its innovative approach to supply chain management and partnering with suppliers.

This second generation agreement has further honed its need to obtain access to the necessary skills required to support its significant investment programme.

Frank Huidobro, director of TPS Consult, said: "We were originally retained by BAA under the first supplier framework agreements, and it is an excellent testament to the success of the relationship and the quality of services provided, that we have now also been retained for the second generation framework." The two other consultancies retained were JacobsGIBB Limited and Scott Wilson Kirkpatrick and Co Limited.

Under a separate arrangement, TPS Consult also provides pavement and infrastructure design consultancy services at Heathrow T5.
