Victorian Baths To Bubble Back To Life
TPS Consult, the professional services division of Carillion Plc, has started work on a project to convert, extend and refurbish the Victorian swimming baths in Birmingham.
Looking to develop wider opportunities in the construction industry she then undertook, in her spare time, an MBA at Edinburgh University, successfully completing this in 1996.
Katrina says that she owes much of her career success to TPS: "In fact, I consider the staff I have known for a long time to be my extended family." The construction industry has long been established as male dominated.
TPS Consult is certainly changing that trend, with 64 of the total 340 staff being female - more than 20 per cent.
Katrina continued: "We have a high proportion of women, probably more than in comparable companies, which is great.
When I first started out in construction, you had to prove yourself over and over again, just because you were a woman.
I would like to see more women at the top!!.".
