Alan Muir has joined the Glasgow office of TPS Consult as senior surveyor in its Civil Engineering department.

The much-travelled Alan Muir has joined the Glasgow office of TPS Consult as senior surveyor in its Civil Engineering department.

This appointment continues the growth which has seen the consultants staff levels in Scotland double to 80 in the last four years.

Alan gained a BSc in topological science from the University of Glasgow before starting his career at Mason Land Surveys where he worked for three years.

He then went on to be a land surveyor at MAPS Geosystems in the United Arab Emirates, undertaking various assignments across the Middle East.

He has worked at most of the major airports in the UK: Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham and Glasgow, where his skills and experience on GBS and Auto CAD have been greatly valued.

He has also worked on a 600km oil pipeline in UAE and an 80km pipeline in Yemen, carried out a photo control survey on the West Coast main line from Crewe to Glasgow, and undertaken a six-month land surveying contract for TRC in Australia, which he completed prior to joining TPS.
