TPS is sponsoring the health and safety category of the awards because of its own expertise in the field.
Due to the very nature of building work, health and safety has to be a major consideration within the construction industry.
Steve Foskett, TPS managing director, said: "As designers, we recognise the key role we play in minimising accidents by ensuring the designs we produce, whilst being artistically and technically inspiring, are also capable of being constructed and operated safely".
""TPS, like other designers, has a legal obligation in this respect but we also have a belief that good design, which doesn't subject others to living and working in an unsafe environment, is also our moral duty.
"The pursuit of this 'zero accident' culture is the goal to which TPS aspires, and it is the essence of what we hope those who wish to compete for this award will embrace and clearly demonstrate." The Best Commitment to Health and Safety category is open to any business based in, or conducting most of its business from South London, East Surrey, North Sussex and West Kent.
Businesses wishing to enter themselves in this category can register on the BoBs' website www.bestofbusiness.net and will be sent a simple questionnaire to complete by Friday 1 July 2005.
