Victorian Baths To Bubble Back To Life
TPS Consult, the professional services division of Carillion Plc, has started work on a project to convert, extend and refurbish the Victorian swimming baths in Birmingham.
Paul is responsible for spearheading TPS's work on Smart Building - a means of using virtual 3D computer models to produce higher quality, work, greater speed and improved cost effectiveness for designing, constructing and operating buildings over their whole lifecycle.
His presentation will explain the benefits of collaborative working and give an insight into how business practices can be changed to gain real cost reductions for the entire supply chain.
He will demonstrate how the various benefits are derived and quantified, using TPS's Diagnostic Treatment Centre project at Swindon Hospital as an example of how Smart Building works.
The workshop, hosted by DWF Solutions in Manchester, also includes presentations on the DTI's collaborative working system, Avanti, and collaborative working at St Helen's and Knowsley PFI hospitals by Taylor Woodrow.
Around 30 of the construction industry's leading managers are expected to attend the day-long event.
