Construction Is Not Just A Man's Domain
One year on and female graduates prove that Construction is not just a man's domain.
Currently the pavements are too narrow for the millions of pedestrians a year who use them, with acute congestion points especially at building entrances.
The Exhibition Road Project was created to transform the streets in this historic cultural centre into a safe and easily navigable environment.
The proposed new design gives pedestrians more room to move about while still allowing vehicles to use the road.

Airport Simulation Proved By 'Witness' Evidence
A new and innovative software package to model airport operations has been introduced by TPS Consult, the leading UK project management and design consultancy.
The project will remove kerbs, making it easier for those on foot to move around and encouraging drivers to drive more slowly and cautiously.
The designs also include improvements to pedestrian crossings, improved signage and a refurbished and enhanced pedestrian tunnel.
TPS is carrying out project and cost management for the scheme, including planning supervisor services, contract administration and lottery funding advice.
TPS has managed organisation of an exhibition, which is part of a major consultation exercise intended to gain widespread comments from local residents, businesses, workers and visitors.
A four-day exhibition included a model of the streetscape, photomontages, display boards and a video simulation of the traffic proposals.
In addition to this local consultation, TPS is also coordinating a simultaneous consultation of visitors to the area.
50,000 visitor leaflets are being displayed in specially designed ballot boxes in shops, cafes and museums, allowing visitors to record their opinions of the scheme.
There is also the opportunity for a degree of worldwide comment via an on-line questionnaire (www.rbkc.gov.uk).
The comments received will be important in supporting major funding applications to the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Graham Nash, TPS senior project manager for the scheme said: "We are looking forward to the consultation exercise with great enthusiasm, as it will really let us get to grips with what the public thinks about the proposed changes to Exhibition Road".
"The streetscape scheme is quite innovative with its lack of kerbs creating one single surface".
"This will provide more space for pedestrians and will enhance the safety of all visitors to the area whether on foot or driving.".
