Schal, the client project management division of TPS, has opened a new office in London.

Schal, the client project management division of TPS, has opened a new office in London.

The new location in The Minories will allow Schal closer and more immediate access to its city-based clients.

Schal recently celebrated 25 years of UK operations, with a ceremony at The Royal Opera House, one of their successful project management schemes.

Schal has delivered some iconic UK buildings beginning with the Broadgate development in the 1980's which marked the start of the construction management revolution in the UK.

Then long-term relationships with Stockley Park and Sainsburys took Schal through the dark days of the recession in the early 1990's.

Schal was reborn in the mid-1990's by adding project management services to its construction management capability and wins on key millennium projects catapulted it back into the limelight.

The Royal Opera House was a stunning piece of work and the transformation of the old Bankside Power Station into the Tate Modern continued the innovative and can-do attitude of Schal.

During this period they also project managed Portcullis House, the British Library, and the Europa Nostra award-winning transformation of The Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Over the past few years construction management has fallen from favour while client project management, combined with sustainability and CDM safety services, have grown.

The project management of Trafalgar Square's recent transformation and the successful delivery of the award-winning National Assembly for Wales show that Schal is still delivering.

Schal director, Steve Child, says: "Schal's future looks assured.

Partnering, quality projects and sustainability, combined with forward looking innovative clients, are moving us forward.

"We are now setting up a website called "Schal Reunited".

Anyone wanting to join should email me (steve.child@schal.co.uk) with the dates they were with the company.

It's just a bit of fun, but then if you don't have some fun at work it's not worth doing!".
