Health and safety top priority for TRA

Health and safety continues to be a top priority The Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) has recently appointed Mark Murphy as Chairman of its Health and Safety Committee further to Patrick Martin retiring from the position

Mark has a strong background in health and safety and it is a key part of his role at Donaldson Timber Engineering .
The TRA Health and Safety Committee is made up of representatives from TRA members who are all responsible for health and safety in their individual companies.
An HSE representative also attends the committee meetings to liaise between the HSE and trussed rafter industry.
The committee focuses on many health and safety issues which face the industry, including advising members on new and updated legislations, addressing issues and concerns within the industry and providing guidance for members.
Mark Murphy comments, "I am pleased to accept the position as Chairman of TRA's Health and Safety Committee and plan to continue the excellent work carried out by Patrick Martin".
"My plans are to build stronger links between the trussed rafter manufacturers and the Health and Safety Executive along with making sure that the work of the Health and Safety Committee is at the forefront of the members' thought processes - just as much as price and production are".
