Be part of an industry-wide association

A Trussed Rafter Association product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 25, 2008

Trussed Rafter Association welcomes new members which can include any company involved with trussed rafters, such as manufacturers, system holders, suppliers to the industry and roof designers.

The Trussed Rafter Association (TRA), the widely established voice of the trussed rafter industry in the UK, has seen the steady development of its credentials within the construction industry.

Organisations such as HSE, NHBC, BRE, TRADA, BSI and many others all value TRA's input.

Nothing much happens in the industry without TRA being asked to either comment upon or influence in some other way.

This has to be of benefit to TRA members in this age of increasing legislation.

Some of the areas which must be addressed are, for example, working with HSE to ensure fair and sensible interpretation of the ever increasing health and safety legislation, considering competition from other forms of roofing systems and taking a lead in the industry's training needs.

This list is not exhaustive but typifies the type of challenges that individual truss producers would find difficult to meet on their own.

If all this was not enough to encourage truss manufacturers to apply for membership of TRA then consider one simple fact.

Through its publicity efforts, TRA has received over 15000 direct and internet enquiries so far this year.

Each and every enquirer had access to the TRA list of truss manufacturer members.

It is beyond question that this must lead to a high level of preferential business enquiries for the TRA membership.

The TRA has also been awarded a prestigious industry award for the association's technical literature.

If you wish to know more about TRA and membership, please contact Susan Farrow, on 01246 230036 or e-mail info@tra.org.uk.
