The new-look Trianco Training Services can boast two women as the first people to qualify from its OFTEC Combined 101, 105 and 600A, 102 and Unvented Hot Water courses.

The new-look Trianco Training Services can boast two women as the first people to qualify from its OFTEC Combined 101, 105 and 600A, 102 and Unvented Hot Water courses.

Currently, in the UK, there are over 1,000 women plumbers.

Naomi Engelkamp and Amanda Beddows, both from Sheffield, successfully completed their OFTEC courses earlier this year and are currently working as trainee heating engineers.

They are also in the process of completing a further NVQ qualification in Domestic Natural Gas, which will allow them the opportunity of becoming independently Corgi registered.

Trianco Training Services offers familiarisation courses on burners, oil and gas condensing boilers as well as the Aztec electric boiler.

OFTEC courses include OFTEC combined 101, 105 and 600A, OFTEC 101 and 105, OFTEC 600A, OFTEC 102, an unvented hot water course and an energy efficiency course.

The individual courses are also available upon request.

Graham Ward, manager of Trianco Training Services comments, "New models of boilers, along with a degree of scepticism and confusion, greeted the introduction of the new Part L Building Regulations.

Now, even though things have settled down, there is still a need for clear understanding of the regulations and certainly a continuing need for training.

Our training courses are getting progressively busier all the time and women are becoming regular attendees." Amanda comments "I am in work now and I would not have had this opportunity without Trianco's courses.".
