Trianco towers over the White Cliffs of Dove
Dover Building and Property Maintenance has opted for Trianco Aztec electric boilers at two of its sites on either-side of Tower Hamlets Road in Dover, Kent.
Having carefully researched the boiler market, Dover Building and Property Maintenance has opted for Trianco Aztec electric boilers at two of its sites on either-side of Tower Hamlets Road in Dover, Kent.
The 25 Aztec boilers will supply heating and hot water within a range of apartments, cottages and houses that the company plans to sell and let.
On one side of the road is Tower Court, a development of five new two-and three bedroom houses, which Dover Building and Property Maintenance will let.
On the other side are the properties for sale: 15 new apartments forming Stable Court and a 19th century stable block converted to create Stable Cottages, a range of four, one and two bedroom cottages and a one bedroom bungalow.
The decision was taken early on not to lay gas into any of the properties as this saved pipe runs and, in the case of the rental properties, the need for annual certification and servicing.
Trianco Aztec electric boilers were chosen after several heating systems had been considered because they offered a compact and reliable solution with good back up should there be a problem.
In the new build parts of the development, the Aztec boilers are used in conjunction with radiators while in the conversions they serve radiators on the first floor and underfloor heating on the ground floor.
The systems are all unvented and, depending on the size of the homes, either 6kW or 9kW boilers have been employed; due to their compact dimensions all have been installed in airing cupboards.
The Aztec is the only electric boiler to carry the British Standards Kitemark and offers outputs from 2kW to 12kW; in larger properties the boilers may be linked in any combination to provide greater heating capacity.
Installation is easy and, along with the versatility and space saving advantages, the Aztec boasts an incredible 99.8% efficiency.
Peter Swinbourne, partner, Dover Building and Property Maintenance, comments: "We researched the market quite carefully and had good reports of Trianco and the Aztec".
"With some other makes of electric boiler, the unit has to be taken away if there is a problem but with the Aztec replacement parts can be fitted on site".
"They're performing really well and we're already using them on another development.".
