Boilers from Trianco Heating Products have been specified for the picturesque Redrow Homes Chestnut Grange housing development in Bassingham, Lincolnshire.

Boilers from Trianco Heating Products have been specified for the picturesque Redrow Homes Chestnut Grange housing development in Bassingham, Lincolnshire.

The housebuilder's Steve Diffin, who has had prior experience with the Trianco brand from other projects, is the specifier and says a representative from the boiler company has been helpful in discussing the requirements.

A mixture of 36 EuroStar oil-fired boilers and 12 Aztec electric boilers have been installed by Newell Plumbing Services in the 48 new housing units, which include barn conversions, coach houses, and a range of detached, semi-detached, mid-terrace and end-of-terrace homes with one, two, three, four or five bedrooms.

The oil boilers are wall-mounted, balanced-flue 50/70 models and the Aztecs are rated 12kW each.

With no gas available on the site and Redrow's preference for wet central heating systems to attract housebuyers, the Aztecs are being used to solve a couple of particular problems.

One is that some plots have limited rear access for oil-tank refilling, and the other that some of the gardens are small and their usable space would be overshadowed by oil tanks.

Steve Diffin says the installations have been straightforward, with no problems reported.

Housebuyers are briefed by Redrow's site agent at handover time on how the heating controls work.

With only a minority of the new homes sold to date, it is early days for occupant feedback, and so far there have been no adverse comments.

Sourced by the installation company from a merchant stockist, the boilers provide hot water both to radiators and storage cylinders.

Trianco may be best known for oil-fired boilers but also manufactures gas, solid fuel and electric models, keeps abreast of building regulation upgrades with condensing models, and is now also meeting growing climate-change demands by supplying air-source heat pumps and other environmentally friendly units.
