The energy and cash converter

A Trianco Heating Products product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 10, 2007

Converting otherwise wasted heat to provide low cost hot water, the new Activair air source heat pump from Trianco Heating Products has minimal negative impact on the environment.

Consequently, it is ideal for installation in any property where concerns over climate change are taken seriously and cost savings are sought.

Trianco's Activair air source heat pump is available in 3kW, 5kW, 7kW and 12kW versions.

The unit is quickly and easily installed in a loft space, garage or even externally - generally in half a day - and can be up to five times as efficient as a gas or oil boiler.

When used in the home, it is capable of supplying all of a family's hot water needs.

Working rather like a refrigerator in reverse, the Activair uses a small amount of electricity to drive a fan and a quiet, low vibration compressor.

From the surrounding air, it extracts large quantities of low grade, otherwise wasted heat.

This means it is an incredibly efficient heating system capable of providing a constant supply of hot water at up to 60C, though 53C is the most energy-efficient and comfortable temperature.

The Activair air source heat pump offers a competitively-priced alternative to ground-source heat pumps.

These can be prohibitively expensive to many prospective users as they involve the cost and disruption of burying pipes in the ground or the even higher costs associated with sinking a borehole.

The Activair has a range of impressive features.

Cut-out devices guard against abnormal operating conditions, a digital electronic temperature controller ensures precise and consistent control of water temperature and a stainless steel plate heat exchanger ensures corrosion free, long service life.

The exterior of the unit is protected by a plasticised zintec coated steel casing.
