Acoustic control gains an aesthetic face
New Nova range from Trim Acoustics presents specifiers with an attractive and flexible selection of modular acoustic control panels.
The frustrations that architects and interior designers frequently suffer in achieving their aesthetic aspirations on projects, due to the utilitarian appearance of most acoustic control products, can now be overcome thanks to the introduction of a new product by Trim Acoustics.
The new Nova range presents specifiers with an attractive and flexible selection of modular acoustic control panels.
They are simply installed across the internal elevations to new or existing buildings and can create a floor to ceiling finish with minimal joint details, offering greatly reduced reverberation periods and generally improved levels of acoustic comfort.
Manufactured in a standard size of 1200 mm x 600 mm, the Nova Panels utilise a sound absorbing mineral fibre core board covered by a high quality, 'acoustically transparent' fabric, offered in a collection of colours including Coral Blue, Deep Blue, Misty Grey, Double Cream, Shamrock, Sunflower, Poppy and Cranberry.
Commenting on this important launch for the company, Richard Groborz of Trim Acoustics says: "The interior design sector has been crying out for a collection of attractive acoustic control lining products".
""The range is already finding applications in commercial buildings, call centres, hotel reception areas, conference suites and schools, as well as buildings with specialised acoustic requirements like theatres, cinemas and even recording studios.
"We are very excited about the potential and know the performance parameters, as well as the appearance, will appeal to an increasing number of designers".
At 25 mm nominal thickness, Nova Panels weight just 2.4 kG per square metre.
Performance varies across the range of audible sound offering a sound absorption coefficient of 0.01 at a frequency of 63 hz, rising to 0.87 at 250 hz and 1.00 at 500 hz and above.
The panels can be attached to plaster or concrete surfaces using Velcro pads where demountability is required, or permanently attached with silicon mastic.
Nova Panels require minimum maintenance and can either be gently vacuumed or have any marks removed using an appropriate cleaning fluid.
Nova Panels are available on a supply only basis, or Trim Acoustics can provide a full planning and installation service.
