TrustMark gets green fingers

A TrustMark product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 1, 2007

TrustMark has approved the Association of Professional Landscapers as a scheme operator, boosting its membership among landscape gardening contractors to more than 800 firms.

James Steele-Sargent, Chairman of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), said: "We are delighted with the TrustMark approval".

"Landscaping is plagued with cowboys offering cut price services and delivering appalling quality".

"Now that APL members can join the TrustMark scheme, consumers will be able to identify the true professionals in the industry".

Ian Livsey, Chairman of TrustMark, added: "Landscape gardening is a fast growing area of TrustMark's membership and we are delighted with the efforts that the APL has made to become a TrustMark scheme operator".

"We were particularly impressed by APL's services to its members, including its training and business improvement scheme".

TrustMark now has the two leading landscaping trade associations as scheme operators - the APL and BALI.

This reflects the consumer demand for a recognised professional landscaping service.

The Association of Professional Landscapers was created in 1995 and has over 170 member companies who design, construct and maintain landscape gardens and open spaces for domestic and commercial customers.

The APL is a specialist group of the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) and it is committed to raising standards within the industry and providing a source for training and qualifications for its members.
