Consumer demand for good tradesmen brings 75% increase in TrustMark website visitors.

If you are picking up information on paints or roofing products, chances are you will also see information about TrustMark, the Government endorsed scheme that helps people identify reputable and reliable tradesmen to work inside and outside the home TrustMark has ramped up its marketing activities to promote its registered tradesmen to an even larger number of householders across the country

Two new deals with Dulux - Select Decorators Scheme and the SIG Group will make sure TrustMark is publicised across a wide network of stores and depots.

Dulux Paints has printed the TrustMark logo on 11 million new colour charts and one million trade paint charts, which are distributed through several thousand trade centres and retail outlets such as BandQ, Homebase and Focus.

The colour charts are hitting the stores right now, capitalising on the busiest time of the year for people buying paint and other decorating materials.

A TrustMark approved scheme operator is the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) and one of their members is the SIG Group of companies who serve a wide range of specialist trades in the building and construction markets.

They have recently agreed to distribute TrustMark leaflets in all of their 127 depots and stores around the country.

Ian Livsey, Chairman of TrustMark, said: "We are committed to raising the profile of TrustMark in order to help protect the consumer and deliver the business benefits to all registered tradespeople.

It takes a long time to create a brand, but with TrustMark's sustained awareness-boosting campaign we can continue to build on the success achieved to date.

"We have also seen great success with our website, www.trustmark.org.uk.

The daily average number of visitors has risen by 75% compared to this time last year, which is a reflection of the increasing public awareness of TrustMark and the benefits of selecting local, reputable and reliable tradespeople." In the last few months a number of supporting organisations have distributed more than 750,000 TrustMark leaflets and a further 100,000 leaflets and other items of information have been downloaded off the TrustMark website.

Currently the top five trades most in demand by homeowners are fencing contractors, general builders, electricians, roofers and plumbers.
