Travis Perkins support for NCH and Mencap

Travis Perkins plc presented a staggering total of GBP408,852 to three of its nominated charities NCH, Mencap and Mencap's sister charity, ENABLE Scotland.

Group branch and head office employees, trade customers and suppliers of the national merchanting businesses took part in a variety of fundraisers throughout 2007.

Activities included a charity ball, raffles, a huge family fun day, car washes and a highly successful internal auction that raised more than GBP13,200.

Geoff Cooper, group chief executive, Travis Perkins plc, was delighted with the results: "I'm very proud of our achievement".

"Everyone across the merchanting businesses has been committed to the cause and as a direct result of their dedication, we have exceeded our target, and the expectations of each charity".

In its continued effort to support the charities, Travis Perkins plc has already begun its series of fundraising events for 2008.

The nominated charities will benefit from a number of activities across the year including the three peaks challenge and the Travis Perkins Group family fun day.
