TSK Group breathes new life into Mayfair

The TSK Group has helped GVA Grimley to transform its prestigious offices in Mayfair to create a more positive working environment.

Leading workplace environment specialist The TSK Group has helped one of the country's fastest growing property firms to transform its prestigious offices in Mayfair to create a more positive working environment for its Planning, Development and Regeneration (PDR) Department.

GVA Grimley's London PDR team works with leading architects and developers, but its own offices were dark, claustrophobic and did little to provide suitable work-settings for the sixty-five professionals based there.

Stephen Brown, Head of planning at GVA Grimley explained: "We are an organisation that understands property and the potential of interior space; so we knew that there was a need to improve and refresh our Mayfair offices." "We wanted to create an office that reflects the quality of our own work and our own professionals; an office that provided space to breathe, space to work and space to communicate with each other." He added.

Leading workplace environment specialist the TSK Group was assigned by GVA Grimley to provide a comprehensive design and delivery solution.

The first step, according to TSK's Joint Managing Director Andrew Burns, was to look at the flaws of the existing workplace: "The current working environment for GVA Grimley's London PDR team was very claustrophobic".

"There was a lack of light and space, causing the environment to be detrimental to the positive, open and collaborative working culture the GVA Grimley management have," he commented.The office needed to remain functional at all times, so TSK developed a staggered work strategy for the project to ensure minimal impact on the busy PDR team.

With the project now fully complete, TSK has transformed the offices, reducing the physical boundaries between colleagues and incorporating high-design furniture solutions that are both visually stunning and fundamentally practical.

The project has also been influenced by the comprehensive brand refresh project recently completed by GVA Grimley; and the new interior environment developed by TSK provided an opportunity to incorporate new brand facets, such as a secondary colour palette, directly into the aesthetic make-up of the workplace.

Lighting has been used in varied and effective ways to invigorate the office and combat a lack of natural light; including impressive LED lighting built in to a full-height storage facility.

The LED lighting changes colour according to a range of different settings, offering a palette of colours specifically chosen for their atmospheric impact.

Stephen Brown commented: "The completed offices are a total transformation, meeting all of our original objectives and more".

"The storage facility that incorporates the LED lighting is very original, providing a visual signature for our offices whilst helping to maintain an upbeat and positive atmosphere at all times".

"The new environment is a pure continuation of our forward-thinking ideology and our new brand, but it is also a direct investment in our workforce".
