Conservation rooflights have been installed as part of the renovation of the Leathermarket Business Centre, built originally in 1833.

FSP Architects and Planners aimed to retain the original character of Units 1-2 Leathermarket, Bermondsey whilst creating modern office spaces The existing timber truss roof was exposed with two new mezzanine spaces added

The architects used Lumen Link Lights from Tuscan Foundry Products to remain in keeping with the original construction.

By joining 12 Lumen Link Lights together the architects could provide double and triple openings to light up the mezzanine areas and top floor units.

In addition, a bespoke flat conservation rooflight was manufactured to maximize light into the lobby and give access to the roof.

The Lumen Link Light is a low profile British made conservation rooflight that incorporates Pilkington Activ.

Manufactured to sit flush, the Lumen Link Light has a low profile to remain sympathetic to the building's architecture.

The GBP1.3 million Grade II listed project, in liaison with Sounthwark Council Conservation Officer, has now been completed.
