Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 29, 2008

Tuffin Ferraby Taylorhas been instructed to carry out works on Hammer House, the original house of horrors, where some of the all time classic horror films were made.

Hammer House, was previously home to Hammer Film Productions, who notoriously produced the classic horror films of the 50's and 60's, including Dracula and the Curse of Frankenstein, with their editing studios in London becoming known as 'Hammer House of Horrors'.

Tuffin Ferraby Taylor (TFT) is acting as lead consultant, designer and CDM co-ordinator for a full strip out and refurbishment of the vacant first and second floor offices and toilets, as well as refurbishment of the common parts of all floors and the reception area.

The team will also be overseeing the installation of a new VRV air conditioning system and carrying out dilapidation inspections and smaller refurbishments on the sixth and seventh floors.

Hammer House is now owned by the West Midlands Pension Fund, with ING Real Estate as fund managers, and is still occupied by a number of film and television production companies.

Works are expected to be completed by the end of December 2008.
