Chris Stops has returned to the UK after over 4 years in Houston to take up the post of Regional Director for Europe in the Energy division based at the company's Edinburgh office.

Chris Stops has returned to the UK after over 4 years in Houston to take up the post of Regional Director for Europe in the Energy division based at the company's Edinburgh office.

A chartered engineer with an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, Chris has over fifteen years experience in the execution of project-focused business and the provision of Project Controls consultancy services in the international oil and gas sector.

His new role will see him responsible for the management of a growing team of 30 consultants based in the UK and Continental Europe.

Since joining Turner and Townsend in 2004, Chris has been involved in many upstream oil and gas projects in the States, one of the highlights being Project Cost Functional Lead for the BP Atlantis deepwater project in the Gulf of Mexico.

As part of Chris's role, he will act as the European chairman for the joint industry initiative - Performance Forum, providing performance measurement and benchmarking to 13 of the world's oil and gas operators including BP, BHP Billiton, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Shell and Woodside.

Turner and Townsend's Energy division has developed a strong track record in Europe over the past 20 years, providing support to clients including BP, Shell, Ineos, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, BG and Cairn Energy.
