Turner and Townsend has appointed Coenraad Snyman an admitted attorney of the High Courts of South Africa and Lesotho to head up the Contract Services division in Johannesburg, South Africa.

After leaving Government, he completed his articles and commenced practising law for his own account.
Whilst doing contract work for Siemens, he was spotted by a leading South African construction law consultancy who offered him a permanent position, and was instrumental in expanding the consultancy's work by starting up an attorney practise specialising in construction law and remained with them until joining Turner and Townsend.

During Coenraad's legal career, he has represented and acted for various clients in court and arbitrations and has gained an in-depth knowledge of the problems experienced during and arising from most forms of contracts typically used for construction projects.
He has also presented training courses on construction law, FIDIC, JBCC and NEC Contracts to numerous local players in the industry.
He has assisted and advised various blue chip clients during pre-award negotiations and has been involved in drafting numerous bespoke contracts.
He has successfully completed an advanced course in Construction law presented by the South African Association of Arbitrators.
