Townsend
Birmingham City Council appoint Turner and Townsend as Project Director to the Birmingham Gateway Project.
Birmingham City Council has appointed construction and management consultant Turner and Townsend as Project Director Birmingham Gateway Project which will oversee the revamp of Birmingham New Street station The scheme will see station pedestrian capacity substantially increased to meet long term passenger demand and will encompass a complete redevelopment of the station concourse and platforms

As well as being a vast improvement to the daily journey of the growing number of rail commuters, Birmingham New Street will become a landmark gateway to the city at the heart of the national rail network.
Councillor Mike Whitby, Leader Birmingham City Council says: "As Chair of the steering group overseeing the Birmingham Gateway project I am pleased that the City Council has made this appointment".
"As the project moves from design development through to procurement and implementation, it is essential that we ensure appropriate project management skills are secured to realise this key project for both the City and the West Midlands as a whole.".
