A particular highlight was working with the Marines as part of a US Department of Defense commission where he developed a programme called the Advanced Amphibious Assualt Vehicle - a 38 ton tank that swims.
With a BA in Islamic History from Oxford University and an MBA from Sir John Cass Business School, Jonathan will support the delivery of Turner and Townsend's next phase of growth, aiming to bring his experience of Defence sector to ultimately win more work in this area.
Jonathan joins from the Swansea-based consultancy Oatmeal Group where he was a Partner in the firm.
Neil Bullen, Head of Management Consultancy at Turner and Townsend, said: "Jonathan's appointment is part of a wider strategy to continue the growth of our highly successful Management Consultancy business with a view to entering new markets and building upon our existing success in this area".
Jonathan said of his plans for the future: "I don't envisage making major change to what is already a very successful consultancy business".
"I think it is more important that we sustain the momentum we have developed to date by continuing to provide high quality service to our clients.".
