Turner and Townsend has been appointed to the $900 million Aqua Dunya water theme park in the heart of Dubailand.

Turner and Townsend has been appointed to the $900 million Aqua Dunya water theme park in the heart of Dubailand Appointed by Al Sharq Investments, Turner and Townsend's local office in Dubai will initially undertake a feasibility study to provide cost estimates for the production of the master plan and business case for the Aqua Dunya Development, including the supporting infrastructure works

The 3.5 acre development, which includes an oasis lagoon, three hotels, a convention centre, a waterfront retail and dining district, entertainment facilities, 755 holiday apartments and a golf course, centres on a mid-19th century cruise ship which plays host to the 5-star 330 bed Jumeirah Desert Pearl Hotel.

As a major tourist attraction, Aqua Dunya expects to welcome over 2 million annual visitors to the park.

Turner and Townsend is currently involved in the development of facilities at both the Emirates Towers Hotel and the Burj Al Arab for Jumeirah, is providing cost management and planning expertise for a new Novotel hotel at Sharjah International Airport and ongoing project management support to Saba Real Estate.

The company is also involved in the planning stages of the Dubai Metro - one of the most advanced automated urban rail systems in the world and a key development in Dubai's drive for tourism and financial growth in the future.
