The award, which is sponsored jointly by ISPE, Interphex and the publication Pharmaceutical Process, was granted after a jury of experts selected RVS for its technological innovations in the manufacturing of prefilled syringes, cartridges and vials.
The pharmaceutical production has commenced on the new euro100 Million "state of the art" aseptic production facility for Vetter Pharma-Fertigung and Co KG in Southern Germany.
Appointed in May 2004, construction and management consultant Turner and Townsend's specialist hi-tech sector division, Turner and Townsend SIBC has assisted the client transforming an existing production hall into a world class aseptic production facility in May 2004.
Construction on the project started in September 2004 and was successfully handed over in quality, time and budget at the end of 2006.
With approx.
1800 employees over three sites, the total production capacity is about 300 million production units per year and will increase by about 30 % due to the new facility.
The new facility with approx.
4500 m2 production area covers four independent and fully automated production lines.
In phase one, two filling lines (RVS I + II), including equipment for the compounding and material preparation, were installed.
The remaining filling lines can be installed without disruption to the running production process.
Turner and Townsend SIBC services included the overall Project Cost Controlling RVS, the Project Management RVS II line incl.
compounding and material preparation, the Project Management to implement a clients format on the RVS I line, Construction Management support and Project Control for the "Equipment - Hook up".
