Currently providing around 50 project controls staff to British Nuclear Group at Sellafield, Bill Woolgar commented: "It is expected the Energy White Paper will set out a fundamental shift of responsibility to the private sector to finance, construct and deliver a new generation of nuclear power stations.
"There will be a number of key challenges facing the industry as well as owners of the new power stations, vendors, regulators and the supply chain, and we will draw upon our experience in both the energy sector and major projects such as BAA's Terminal 5 to provide the high degree of certainty which the private sector will require in order to minimise its exposure".
Mr Woolgar added that he did not rule out forming alliances with other organisations as part of a strategy to win business in the nuclear sector.
