Offices compete in Edinburgh Relay Marathon

A Turner and Townsend product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 4, 2007

Teams from Turner and Townsend's two Scottish offices took part in Edinburgh's Relay Marathon on the cold wet Bank Holiday Sunday, raising a substantial donation for various charities.

Competing against each other in the 26.2 mile race, the teams from Glasgow and Edinburgh raised a substantial donation for Breast Cancer Care Scotland, Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, Maggie's Cancer Centre and British Heart Foundation.

Turner and Townsend's official race reporter Martin Hamilton commented 'they overcame all the odds to record two superb runs, raising a major sum of money for charity and, the icing on the cake, Glasgow "Gubbin" their Edinburgh colleagues into the bargain'.

After the business end of the day was over, both teams retired to a local hostelry for some well deserved refreshment and mark the end of a fantastically successful and fulfilling day for all who took part with major thanks to the support crew and all who contributed on behalf of Turner andTownsend.
