TCM takes on further new staff

A Thurlow Countryside Management product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 6, 2007

Thurlow Countryside Management announce it has appointed two new business managers and a financial director.

tcm (Thurlow Countryside Management) is extremely proud to announce that it has taken on three new and very experienced members of staff.

Two are business managers and the third a financial director and each will help take the business even further forward.

These three 'acquisitions' will be of great benefit to the entire company as their respective skills, knowledge and experience will be shared and of benefit to everyone within the company.

The background that both Mark and Sarah have from already working in the industry will be used to the whole company's advantage.

We have already seen huge personal successes since they each joined the company and have already lined up knowledge sharing events where they can continue to pass on further knowledge to their new colleagues.

Mark Prout - South West Business Manager Mark Prout was previously Projects manager for the West Country Rivers Trust, an environmental charity in the Southwest.

One of the projects Mark managed was a 3 year long invasive weeds surveying program on a river catchment in North Cornwall.

Through the project Mark gathered extensive knowledge of invasive weeds whilst creating links with Local authorities and companies throughout the South west.

"I am looking forward to carrying the tcm flag into the far west".

The south and west have widespread occurrences of Japanese knotweed and other invasive plant species which will now receive the cost effective, guaranteed tcm treatment.

Sarah Wakefield - South East Business Manager Sarah graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a degree in physical geography and environmental science, after which she worked within the contaminated land department of the Scott Wilson office in Kent.

During the three years at the company Sarah was able to gain a wide knowledge, understanding and practical experience of ecology and invasive weeds issues.

Her primary role was that of carrying out Phase 1 habitat and river corridor surveys, coordinating extended specialist protected species survey work and liaising closely with clients and local authorities throughout the implementation of mitigation works.

Since joining tcm Sarah has set up the Kent office, based in Whitstable, serving the south east of England and the Thames Gateway.

Sarah has drawn upon her background knowledge and experience of invasive weeds management to create innovative strategies to facilitate the successful management and eradication of a range of invasive weed species,.

This allows developments to progress unimpeded, within the timescales outlined by our clients.

Richard Freeman - Financial Director Richard is a Chartered accountant who qualified with KPMG London.

Richard first worked for Conoco Phillips as a financial analyst and then joined Ionica where he initially worked on the corporate finance side, raising money for the business and then moved on the operational reporting side, providing management with detailed information and analysis on all aspects of the business.

More recently Richard worked at a British software company, Searchspace (now called Fortent) where he was their Financial Director.

They were taken over by a US venture capitalist and the head offices moved to the US.

Richard's Initial task at tcm is to take the finance and operational reporting side of the business to the 'next stage' as the company continues to grow.
