Acclaimed British Designer, Wayne Hemingway MBE, is to host an exclusive seminar at next year's Tile and Stone Show.

Exploring 'design for the masses rather than the elite' the seminar will take place on the show's second day, Monday 30 June, at ExCeL London.

It is set to attract leading architects and interior designers from the UK and overseas.

Born in seaside town, Morecambe, in 1961, Wayne's career spans high profile street fashion design to urban planning.

In 1982, he co-founded fashion label 'Red or Dead' with his wife, Gerardine Hemingway.

It received the British Fashion Council's 'Streetstyle Designer of the Year Award' for an unprecedented three consecutive years in 1996, 1997 and 1998.

After 21 catwalk seasons, the label was sold in a multi-million pound cash sale and Wayne set up Hemingway Design.

A specialist in affordable and social design, the company has been involved with numerous groundbreaking projects, including The Staiths South Bank - an 800 property mass market housing project on Tyneside, for George Wimpey Homes, and winner of 'Best Large Project' in the Housing Design Awards, Building Magazine's 'Best Housing-Led Regeneration Project', a Building for Life and the highest rating of any large scale scheme in a recent CABE audit.

Professor in The Built Environment Department of Northumbria University, Doctor of Design at Wolverhampton, Chairman of Building for Life and a CABE, Wayne also received an MBE in the Queen's Birthday List in June 2006.

He regularly judges international design competitions and writes for a variety of high profile architectural and housing publications.

His latest project is a world-first design resource, The Land of Lost Content.
