TWR develops secure steel window design

A T.W.R. Commercial product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 19, 2010

TWR Commercial has developed a fully secure steel anti-ligature window in accordance with Document L.

The window has being developed with security, anti-absconsion, anti-ligature, anti-contraband, compliance, easy maintenance for staff and aesthetically pleasing criteria in mind.

The window can be locked at different restrictions either from in or outside the ground floor of a building.

Unlike the aluminium counter part, this window does not have cleated corners or additional strength locators.

Steel is naturally strong and durable unlike the softer aluminium windows.

TWR has successfully passed a high security test performed by the security team at Ashworth Category A Hospital, unlike other aluminium windows which failed the substantial test.

This window does not need to be taken out for the glass or mesh to be changed, it can be easily cleaned deglazed and reglazed by staff with training.
