Frost Protection Systems Installed In Swindon
Tyco Thermal Controls' trace-heating systems have been installed for frost protection on the external chiller and heating pipes at Swindon's new Great Western Hospital.
Over 300 metres of Raychem HWAT self-regulating heating cable, plus accessories, have been installed in 25 circuits for temperature maintenance to hot water services feeding the Stadium's public toilets, players and officials changing rooms, kitchens and Directors facilities.
This self-regulating heat-tracing system enables the hot water services to be supplied through a single pipe system, eliminating the need for secondary re-circulation plumbing.
It delivers greater energy-efficiency, lower maintenance and significant installation time/cost savings over traditional re-circulation systems.
The Raychem HWAT system offers the guarantee of hot water at all points in the pipe work, including deadlegs! To avoid contamination it maintains a continuous water temperature above 50DegC and, simply by using a controller, the water temperature can be increased for selected time periods to prevent bacterial growth.
For the Stadium's lighting systems, Pyrotenax Multi-Plus cable was chosen for its enhanced handling characteristics and zero halogen, low smoke and fume (LSF) properties.
Newey and Eyre, a Tyco Thermal Controls Wholesaler Partner has supplied over 20km of Multi-Plus cable to NG Bailey for this application.
Multi-Plus - effectively a pre-wired conduit - is a one-step multi-purpose cable system.
It is quick and easy to install and has a low profile which contributes to space saving.
Pliable yet robust, the enhanced handling characteristics of Multi-Plus deliver significant installation time/cost savings over conventional wiring systems.
The cable also features an aluminium screen which reduces electrical interference.
