Underfloor heating luxury at Gleneagles

A Tyco Thermal Controls product story

Raychem electric underfloor heating systems have been installed for comfort heating in the recently opened GBP8million destination spa at The Gleneagles Hotel, the world famous AA Five Red Star resort

Tyco Thermal Controls' distributor partner, Smith Electrical, was commissioned by the project electrical contractor HF to supply the underfloor heating systems and install them under the anti-slip, porcelain ceramic tiling around the vitality pool, across the communal areas, in changing rooms and in twelve of the treatment rooms.

Raychem ultra-thin QuickNet power mats were laid in the tile adhesive to offer the maximum heating efficiency with virtually no impact on floor height.

For the changing rooms, a higher output was specified, so Raychem T2Blue heating cables were installed to precisely match the requirement of this particular zone and these were laid within a levelling compound.

The Gleneagles Hotel, in Perthshire, Scotland, now boasts one of the most luxurious destination spas in the world.

Its new Spa by ESPA was designed by award winning interior designer Amanda Rosa and offers modern techniques and ancient therapies with a wide range of natural facials, body treatments and massages to improve the wellbeing of both men and women.

The comfort provided by underfloor heating is designed to complement the tranquil space and relaxed atmosphere in which to receive therapeutic treatments.
