Raychem HWAT self-regulating heat-tracing systems

A Tyco Thermal Controls product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 31, 2008

Heat-tracing systems have been installed for hot water temperature maintenance as part of the redevelopment of Epping Forest College Campus.

This enables all hot water services to be supplied through a single pipe system.

Aqua Mechanical Services, the project M and E contractor, commissioned Astec .

to supply and install the system to maintain water temperatures at 60C and deliver instant hot water throughout the complex.

Heat-tracing a single pipe system is up to 50% more energy-efficient than conventional re-circulation systems and by eliminating the need for secondary pipework Raychem HWAT also offers space, material and installation time/cost savings.

Astec ., a Tyco Thermal Controls' distributor partner, has supplied and installed 1800 metres of heat-tracing cable and fifteen HWAT-ECO 'smart' controllers across the impressive three storey academic building and additional technology and theatre buildings which rise to five storeys.
