When interior designer Deborah Drew required a first-class electrical underfloor heating system, she chose Raychem's self-regulating T2Reflecta system as the optimum solution.
For a residential refurbishment project in Porthcawl, interior designer Deborah Drew required a first-class electrical underfloor heating system that could be installed safely under the new solid wood floors in the hallway and living room.
After careful consideration she chose Raychem's self-regulating T2Reflecta system as the optimum solution.
Well known for her appearances on BBC1's DIY SOS programme, Deborah knew she had to be extremely careful in her selection of an appropriate and effective heating system as many systems on the market are not suitable for installation under wood flooring.
Self-regulating systems are energy-efficient and offer a most effective and versatile underfloor heating solution.
The Raychem T2Red self-regulating heating cable provides zone power control, sensing other sources of heat and automatically adjusting output to provide more heat where it is needed most (typically at doorways) and less heat where solar gains are present.
Self-regulating systems can be employed safely under all popular flooring surfaces and are the preferred electric system for installing under wood floors as they cannot overheat and damage floors.
The heating cable is popular with installers too as it can be cut to length on-site should design adjustment be needed.
In the T2Reflecta system, this cable is used in combination with a pre-grooved, thermally insulated, aluminium-covered plate, which minimises heat loss and provides optimum heat distribution.
It can be assembled to fit all room sizes, and increases energy saving by an additional 20 per cent.
