UGS invests in GPS for vehicle fleet
Builders' merchant and civil construction supplier UGS is to equip its entire vehicle fleet with a global positioning system, following an investment of GBP150,000.
"We believe UGS is the only builders' merchant to offer a dedicated supplies service," explains Mike Hosgood, "with our vast knowledge of the market we're able to provide a good service and can source an extensive range of goods at competitive prices".
The new service is being piloted at UGS's Exeter branch at Rockbeare Hill, near Ottery St Mary, Devon with a roll out planned for the rest of the country during 2007.
According to UGS managing director Paul Beaman the new venture reinforces the company's position as the UK's fastest growing independent builders' merchant: "We're always looking for ways to improve our service to customers and the new site supplies service will do just that by providing a one-stop-shop for builders and contractors," he says, "I'm particularly pleased to have Mike and Kevin on board".
